The AFCD in 2013 seemed a smaller gathering than previous years but again the weather was perfect for Sydney’s display of French cars. The Peugeot Club organised the day which was supported by the all the Sydney French car clubs.
A number of the usual Renault regular attendees weren’t present due to a variety of reasons, and so we were missing some notable vehicles. After a big Easter for R8s and 4CVs only one R8 Gordini and 4CV were displayed. However, there were some Renaults that we had
not seen before including some 1980s and 1990s models.
Best Renault Steve Kozac R8Gordini
Second Outright Chris Hartwell Dauphine Gordini
1960s Mike Stevenson R10R
1970s Clive Atkinson 12 Virage
1980s David Cawthorn Fuego
1990s Albert Grandjean R19
2000s Albert Grandjean Scenic

In the overall independent judging for the best French car on display Chris and Steve were placed 2nd and 3rd respectively, only missing the ultimate prize by 1 point to a beautifully presented Peugeot 306XT.
Many thanks must go to Kevin Byron for organising the judging and presenting the awards.
